About me
Family
· Lifelong resident of the lower Eastern Shore
· My wife is a Nurse Practitioner who recently earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice
· We have two adorable daughters.
Legal Experience
· I was admitted to the Bar in 2001
· 2 years as a Law Clerk for the Worcester County Circuit Court
· 15 years as a prosecutor in both District and Circuit Court
· 7 years in private practice
· During my career, I have handled over 10,000 cases, including approximately 100 jury trials
· In private practice, I handled criminal defense, domestic cases, small claim civil litigation, wills and estate planning, corporate compliance, non-profit law, and administrative law
· I represented the Worcester County Shoreline Commission for 3 years
Academic Experience
· 10 years as an Adjunct Lecturer of Political Science at Salisbury University teaching Courts and Judicial Politics, Intro to Politics, Intro to American Politics, and Campaign Management
· 2 years as an Adjunct Lecturer of Education, teaching education law
Governmental Experience
· At the age of 19, I was elected as a Commissioner for the Town of Pittsville
· I have served on various Committees, including the Pittsville Planning and Zoning Board, the Wicomico County Fire Chief’s Advisory Committee, the Wicomico County Right to Farm Legislative Drafting Committee, and the Snow Hill Historic District Commission
· I have been the Chair of the Town of Snow Hill Election Ordinance Study Committee and the Town of Snow Hill Charter Review Committee
Civic Engagment
· Past president of both the Pittsville and Snow Hill Lions Clubs
· Past president of the Worcester County Bar Association
· Past President of the Wicomico County Volunteer Firefighters Association
· 20 years with the Maryland State Firefighters Association
· Life Member, and 4th generation firefighter, with the Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department
· Active member of the Snow Hill Volunteer Fire Company, currently serving as both Chaplain and Marshal
· Past State Master Councilor for Maryland DeMolay
